Your screen stays on your computer.
Parsel reads screen context locally. Your screen content never leaves this computer. Here is exactly what it reads, what it keeps, and what it counts.
Nothing is sent anywhere
Parsel contains no networking code; an automated test checks this on every build. Nothing from your screen, your clipboard or your typing leaves the computer.
In memory, not on disk
Parsel keeps an in-memory index of the visible text in open windows on your current desktop. It is refreshed when content changes, purged when a window closes, and never written to disk.
Protected fields are off-limits
Password fields are never read and never receive suggestions. Fields labeled password, one-time code, CVV or SSN never receive suggestions.
You approve every value
Nothing is typed until you press →. Accepted text goes in as keystrokes, exactly as if you typed it.
What Parsel reads, and where it stays
- Visible text only. Only what is in a window's visible area counts. Content scrolled far away is not read. Minimized windows are not read.
- Clipboard. Only the current clipboard text is considered. No clipboard history.
- OCR on this computer. For windows with little readable text, Parsel uses the OCR built into your operating system. Images are never stored.
- No screen recording. Parsel is not a screen recorder and keeps no screen history.
Usage counters: exactly what they contain
Parsel keeps simple counters on your computer so you (and, only if you opt in later, we) can tell whether suggestions are useful. They power the weekly overview in the Parsel window. Each record contains only:
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Event name | accepted |
| Mode | context, prefix or infix |
| Shape | date, amount, identifier |
| Source category | recent, other or clipboard |
| Destination app process name | chrome |
| Tag | work, case or harness |
| Timing numbers | milliseconds to show a suggestion |
Counters never contain screen text, values, clipboard contents, window titles or documents. Every record is checked against this closed list before it is written.
Counters stay on this computer. Sharing is not part of the current build; when it arrives it will be off by default, behind a visible switch in Settings, and you can turn it off again at any time.
You are in control
Exclusions
Exclude any application or window from the tray menu. Parsel will not read it or suggest in it. Known password managers are excluded by default.
Pause
One control stops reading, capture and suggestions at once. The paused state is obvious in the tray.
No account
Parsel needs no account. A license problem never blocks your typing.
Uninstall
Quit Parsel from the tray and delete its folder. To remove settings and counters too, delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\Parsel.
